What to Bring

While staying at Patton Campus, you’ll be housed in an air ­conditioned college dormitory style setting with 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8 people in your room. You will be assigned roommates from your Department who may or may not be from your home Chapter ­ getting to know your brethren is a perk of the week. We will not accommodate requests to be housed with relatives or members of your home chapter. Each person will have a closet and you can share a chest of drawers. Private bathrooms are located in each room. You will be provided with clean sheets, blankets, and a bath towel and washcloth.


You will need to bring the following:

  • Casual clothing for seven days
    • You’ll be given 2 conference ­shirts to wear each day. We’ll take care of laundering them.
    • For athletics, please bring a shirt for each day (must be in good taste).
  • You do not need a suit or khakis!
  • Rain gear
  • Sneakers (or other closed­-toed athletic shoes)
  • Hat
  • DeMolay Ritual
  • Soap
  • Shampoo
  • Toothpaste / Toothbrush
  • Deodorant
  • Other toiletries
  • Sleepwear


Other Good Ideas

  • Bathing suit, foot slides, and pool towel for our on-site pool & end-of-week party.
  • A water bottle for outdoor activities
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen


Completely Optional

There will be a “Key Man & More Store” for DeMolay supplies and gifts; there are also soda, candy and change machines on the Campus. You may wish to bring a small amount of money with you. A “bank” for your money and valuables will be provided for your benefit.


Necessary Medications

Staff will supervise the administration of all prescription drugs. They must be left with staff at registration time. If you have any medical problems or physical challenges that may affect your participation, please be sure to list them on your medical release so staff are aware of your needs or speak with the Conference Director or Nurse, upon arrival. Reasonable confidentiality about your medical conditions and medication will be observed, but enough information will be shared with staff to allow them to serve you to the best of their ability.


We have a stock of common first aid items and over­-the-­counter medications and administer them through the staff nurse. You do not need to bring your own. Please do not leave the above listed items behind. 


You will ​not be able to travel into town to pick them up during the week. You should label your belongings with your name.


Valuables & the KeyBank

You bring valuables at your own risk. Room keys will not be provided, and your rooms will not be locked during the day. You may deposit money, jewelry and small valuables with the “Key Bank” for safekeeping. It is preferable that non­essential valuables be left at home. You may bring electronic devices that will be useful in a learning environment, but if they become a distraction, we may ask you to leave them in the KeyBank.


What Not to Bring

Need we say it? Do not bring alcohol, firearms, tobacco in any form, illegal drugs, fireworks, martial arts equipment, slingshots, knives, skateboards, water guns. If you are found in possession of any of these items, you’ll find yourself on your way home at your parent’s expense. In addition, do not bring TVs or electronic gaming equipment.


No Tobacco Use Policy

The Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania and the Masonic Conference Center – Patton Campus in Elizabethtown are strictly non-­smoking facilities. No smoking is permitted anywhere on our campus at any time, whether by conference participants, employees, volunteers, or guests. Thank you for your cooperation.

Behavior and Personal Responsibility:

We expect you to act like a DeMolay – in accordance with the 7 precepts of the Order. (Remember? Filial Love, Reverence for Sacred Things, Courtesy, Comradeship, Fidelity, Cleanness, and Patriotism.) We do not have babysitters on staff. Our staff members are all volunteers, giving up their personal vacation time to help you become a better leader. Disrespectfulness, discourtesy, fighting, bullying, or violation of the safety rules of the campus will earn a quick trip home at your parent’s expense. Don’t be that guy!


Day One: Drop-off (Sunday, August 4th)

Members are encouraged to arrive between 1 – 4 PM on Sunday, August 4th, 2019. Please don’t arrive early than 1 PM. Our official conference kickoff will be at 4:30 PM.


Pick Up: (Saturday, August 10)

After a very busy week, parents and advisors should plan to arrive by 9:45 AM.

We will be presenting a KeyMan slideshow. Attendees should have their bags packed and rooms cleaned. Parents & Advisors are more than welcome to join us for the slideshow and conference remarks at 10 AM at Patton Campus.
